Third Annual Kidz Health & Safety Fair held
Parmer Medical Center held its third annual "Kidz Health & Safety Fair" on Saturday at the Farwell Community Park. Approximately 75 children from Friona, Farwell, Texico, Bovina, and Clovis were in attendance. In addition to the booths sponsored by the hospital, Blue Bonnet Home Health, the Farwell Police Department and Dr. J. R. Ivans Dental Office were present.
The children in attendance were given summer tips, safety education and various handouts. They also received back-packs, sun glasses, and first aid kits. A hotdog sack lunch was also provided. Two bicycles were given away with the winners being Michael Bautista of Friona and Reyes Hernandez of Texico.
The kidz fair will be held in Friona again in 2011 with another county community targeted for 2012. The hospital hopes that while the fair may be held at various communities, all children in the county strive to attend each year.
