Fifth Annual Kidz Health & Safety Fair held
Parmer Medical Center held its fifth annual “Kidz Health & Safety Fair” on Saturday, June 2, at the Bovina City Park. Approximately 114 children from Bovina, Friona, Farwell, Muleshoe, and Hereford were in attendance. There were even some visitors from Amarillo and Ft. Worth. In addition to the hospital booths participants included the Bovina Police Department, Dr. Ivins Dental Office, Deaf Smith Electric, Bovina Fire Department, Bovina EMS, Atmos Energy, The Bone Joint, Southwest Dairy Farmers, and High Plains Food Bank.
The children in attendance were given summer tips, safety education and various handouts. They also received back-packs, sun glasses, and bicycle helmets provided by the Panhandle Regional Advisory Council. A hotdog sack lunch was provided. Two bicycles were given away with the winners being Daniel Carrillo of Bovina and Jasmine Lewis of Friona.
