Hospital Announces Fourth Scholarship Recipient
It was announced at the Farwell High School graduation service last Friday night that Landry Actkinson was the fourth recipient of the Parmer Medical Center Scholarship for 2011. Landry received a $2,500 scholarship that will assist him in his pursuit to become an orthopedic surgeon. Landry will attend Texas Tech University this fall, majoring in Exercise and Sports Medicine. Landry has already shadowed an area physician in preparing for his career.
The selection committee was comprised of school staff, hospital staff and the public at large. They selected four deserving students to each receive a $2,500 award. Regan Anthony, Caitlin Bronniman and Kelsey White from Friona High School were the other recipients.
The PMC Board of Directors and staff all wish a hearty congratulations to each of the scholarship recipients. An additional thank you goes to each of the other seven students who also plan a medical career and took the time to apply for the PMC scholarship.
